About five years ago I started making cameras. In this video I want to show you parts of the process, from start to finish. Everything is handmade. I build all my cameras in quality wood like walnut, cherry or other suitable hardwoods. These handcrafted wooden cameras are used for wet plate photography. I hope you enjoy this video.

Carving a wooden bowl is easier than you might think. In the video below I only used some cheap chisels, a coping saw, and a propane torch. Burning the wood gives it a nice smooth surface and makes the grain stand out. In the video, I use spruce from cheap construction grade lumber.
In this tutorial, I will show you how you can make a woodcut relief print using a CNC machine. I use F-engrave (free software) to make the Gcode and UGS (Universal Gcode Sender) to run the code on my Shapeoko 3. I also use Adobe Illustrator to make the DXF file, but Inkscape is a good free alternative.
